here is our little guy. 10 weeks old today, and loves his time with daddy.  (tim’s long legs in background) we have just shy of a million pictures of him to date, but thought we would let you just look at his sweet face. hopefully as we find time, we can get more up, but he keeps us pretty busy! we are so curious what is going on in his little head, so why don’t you let us know what shepherd is thinking? leave us a caption in the comments section!

6 weeks and counting.

by Fidelis Studio on January 8, 2010

shepherd has made it to 6 weeks old, as of tuesday, and we couldn’t be happier about it. he’s cute, getting chubby, and we tend to have more nights of sleep then not, so no complaints there. as for tim and i, we are busy working and loving our new little guy, which is why you haven’t heard from us since he was born. we have many weddings and shoots, that have just not made it up here, but we hope to remedy that soon. we also are going to be officially changing our blog/site sometime in feb, so there is a lot to look forward to!

so, without further delay, here is a very small recap on Shepherd’s first 6 weeks.

His coming home pic:

Faith and Felix

by Fidelis Studio on December 2, 2009

one of the best things about being a photographer with a blog is the ability to have total control with wonderful bias. with that in mind, i present a whole blog post dedicated to my friends. sure, faith and felix’s wedding was gorgeous and, sure, we meet a whole slew of people we didn’t know that were incredibly gracious, kind, and beautiful, and yes weddings embody a wonderful collision and joining of two families. i get it. but, dang it, i want to show off my friends. Felix was my college roommate and i could tell some stories… some very sad stories about not getting girls…ever. but i won’t. i am going to save him (read: myself) the embarrassment. what i will show is how patience paid off for felix. paid off with interest. he somehow landed a fantastic lady. can you hear the amazement screaming out loud through my keypad? anyways, here is faith and felix and a whole lot of my beautiful friends who went to his wedding.

Baby Shepherd is finally here

by Fidelis Studio on November 25, 2009

this is going to be brief as life has been flying by…. ahh, just kidding. seems like all we do is sleep around here these days. i am watching my second episode of simpsons RIGHT NOW. anyways, i’ll do a full write up of our baby delivery day but suffice it to say it was intense, tearful, painful and beautiful all in the same ten seconds. official stats:

7 lbs. 11 ou.
19.75″
born 3:22 p.m.

he is awesome. i have gushed like a wussy too much lately. i’ve said “precious” about a guy nearly fifteen times…out loud… in public.

Going to have a new member of the family soon.

by Fidelis Studio on November 23, 2009

DON’T FREAK OUT! it isnt happening yet. we are supposed to go to the hospital tonight (if the baby hasn’t come by then) to start the whole labor inducement extravaganza. we’ll spend the night in the hospital and then start patocin in the morning. I fell like this might be one of life’s defining moments and as such will probably be tweeting throughout the whole experience. if you’d like to follow those. go to www.twitter.com/fidelisstudio and subscribe. cheers.

P.S. Photos of course will follow. (nothing gross though)

Ross King Sings Real Pretty and Looks Good Doing It.

by Fidelis Studio on November 20, 2009

kristen and i use a term that we feel is appropriate for ross king and his music. it’s just a little something we came up with on the weekend. we like to play around with syllables and sounds, putting them together in fun and interesting ways. we’re creatives and this is what we do. so the word we came up with is “talented”. what do you think? it’s new and a little edgy but i think it will catch on.

ross has a new CD coming out soon. ross has typically stuck to producing music for human adults. and while he has not given up that dream; he is soon to make a switch. i don’t want to give away the secret here but it isn’t for human adults anymore. maybe its for ladybug adults whose wings just came in, or maybe it is for angelic adults who just needed new material to praise the Lord (i could see them plagiarizing him a bit, cheeky angels), either way i’m not saying who it is for and i hope the pics don’t give it away too much. enjoy.

blog1ok, take a sec. and look at this photo for me. what is the running them here?

blog2the title of the album is “words that rhyme with orange”

if you are trying to guess which words rhyme with orange, they are: norange, fornage, and scornge. blog6

ross CAN juggle. but not that well.blog5just this well. three oranges is more than i can do. i tried.

blog10what’s strange about this shot was that it was totally unprompted. i look over and he’s covered himself in orange paint and is grinning. weird right?

blog4

that last one is my favorite. anyone remember the scene in the godfather (i think II) where marlon brando stickes the orange in his mouth to make the kid smile but the kid screams instead? this is like that but without the scaredy-cat kid.

anyways you can check out ross’s blog right HERE. it’s good stuff.

iTwittered myFacetube*

by Fidelis Studio on November 18, 2009

so, as you may have noticed, kristen and i have been just dang absent from this blog. there is never a good excuse for this, and i know we are all a little wary of *post coming soon post*. but, if you stick with us for a little bit you will see post updated more regularly. i’ve even scheduled some really quality posts. they are already written, composed, and waiting to be published. all i need is a chance people.

anyways, at the risk of apologizing and then shamelessly self-promoting. i thought i might update you all to some other places you might find us in these days of micro-social-blog-networking. anyways getting on with it:

www.twitter.com/fidelisstudio — this is the twitter feed that I from time to time (meaning daily if not more) which feeds to our….

facebook fan page at Fidelis Studio. or you can friend either kristen or me personally.

also, we take part in supporting one facet of our local community at www.mybcs.com. this is a forum for local folk to talk about local things. mainly, its a lot of gripe-ing about local restaurants and public policies, but from time to time we put up photo competitions or just host some photog talk.

ok, that’s the end of the self-promotion today. here’s shipley to give you the shepherd dog look of the day.

day after, jason and rachael.

by Fidelis Studio on October 27, 2009

you might remember the post from jason and rachael’s gorgeous wedding in austin off of lake travis this summer, well they’re back by popular demand! this is a little thing we like to call the “day after” session, or in their case, the “4 month 2 week and 5 day after” session. either way this is a fantastic way for the bride and groom to have images of themselves all jazzed up in their wedding gear, but not rushed or nervous. it is some of the most fun we get to have with a bride and groom. they are always calmed from the anxiety and craziness that planning a wedding brings on, but still young in their marriage and excited to be taking pictures in their wedding dress. enjoy them, again!
